Kauri Bay Boomrock is such an elegant venue for a winter wedding, so we were thrilled to create florals and style Kate and Chris’ ceremony and reception at this incredible location.
They had an outdoor ceremony, which was fitting given how much Kate and Chris love to be out in nature. They love cycling, so Kate supplied brass vintage bike wheels, asking us to create a backdrop with the wheels for the ceremony spot. We love putting little touches like this throughout a wedding, it makes it more YOU. We also created a welcome sign for guests, using a sign with an E.E. Cummings quote made by (Tauranga) local graphic and sign artist Paper Darling, and styled large floral gardens at the base of it, for killer entrance atmosphere!
For the florals, we used rich, red leucadendron, erica, roses and anemone, offset by lush toetoe. We hung spheres of foliage and toetoe from the beams inside the venue, which added a sense of drama for the reception.
Styling the banquet tables in hues of grey, black, gold and khaki, with low vases and loads of candlelight, we created that deeply romantic feel that we love most about winter weddings.
