At the end of July we held our Assemble event at Basestation’s basement space on Durham St, in central Tauranga. After a hugely successful event in Auckland earlier in the year, we decided to do it all again – in Tauranga.

In case you’ve missed the details, Assemble is an appointment-only opportunity to meet with a curated group of top wedding vendors to book and/or plan your wedding. And when we say top vendors, we mean it – alongside us we had the hugely talented teams from Royal Laboratorie, LL Hire, Tble Linen and No Biggie. We all know planning a wedding can be overwhelming if you’ve never planned a large-scale event before, so we created Assemble to make it easier for you. 

We kicked off the Tauranga event with a vendors’ night on Saturday – hosting corporate companies and other pros from the events/weddings industry in our carefully styled/curated space. Then on Sunday we held the event itself. 

We had both booked and potential clients come in for appointments where they were able to see one or all of the vendors and chat about their wedding (dates for which ranged from 2019-2021). 

We styled a number of spaces in different themes, using backdrops from Suburbia to create coloured spaces, each creating its own unique look. This is partly to show you the types of things that are trending, but also to show you what we’re capable of. We had three amazing cakes from Spongedrop, designed to be nested together, on display. There was a lemon and poppyseed cake, a vanilla cake with petal icing and a classic chocolate option.

But it wasn’t all business, we also had champagne, Batched espresso martinis and Funk Estate beers on hand, as well as Seedlip non-alcoholic gin and tonics with freeze dried blood orange , to ensure all our brides and grooms were well-refreshed.

There are two huge advantages to booking an appointment at Assemble. The first is obviously all the time you save by having so many vendors in one room, able to focus their attention solely on you and your big day. You can come to Assemble either to discuss your existing booking and needs or to work out whether we’re the right fit for you and book us in. Rather than trying to carve out time in your busy lives to meet us all individually, you can literally tick it all off in an hour or so. 

The other advantage of Assemble is that it can help spark ideas for you or your vendors and give you a stronger starting point in creating your wedding. Or you can simply order an entire look we’ve created at Assemble – sorting everything out in one decision.
